Invisalign is at type of orthodontic treatment that moves the patient's teeth through the use of clear trays. Throughout treatment, you will have clear attachments placed on specific teeth (not all of your teeth), and you will be changing your trays every 7-10 days (depending on the treatment plan). The attachments on your teeth, combined with the changing of your trays, is what causes your teeth to shift.

We will first do an examination and provide a personalized consultation to determine if you are a candidate for Invisalign and if there are no active cavities. We will then take a digital scan of your teeth using a digital scanner. Dr. Moran will work with Invisalign to develop a treatment plan using ClinCheck, the Invisalign software. From approval of the treatment plan, having the trays produced and delivered to our office, takes about 2-3 weeks. Once we have received your first trays, we will schedule your first Invisalign appointment to place the attachments on your teeth and give you your first set of trays.

It all depends on the current position of your teeth. Some patients may take longer than others due to the complexity of their bite and how long it will take to reach the ideal position. Wearing your trays 20-22 hours a day and adhering to the treatment plan will provide a higher chance that your teeth will align in time provided. ​

No! You need to take out your trays whenever you eat. After eating, you will need to brush and floss your teeth prior to putting the trays back on. This is an important step to maintain your oral hygiene because the trays retain plaque or any food particles. This can create higher risk for cavities or cause gum inflammation​

20-22 hours a day. This is how long you should wear it to allow for teeth movement. ​

The first few days when you start your treatment, you will feel pressure on your teeth and some sensitivity. This is due to the fact that we have begun the process of moving your teeth. After a few days, the pain subsides and your teeth will get used to the trays.

When you first put them on, it is common for you to have a lisp because your tongue isn't used to the feeling of the trays in your mouth. After a few days, your tongue will get used to Invisalign and your speech will be back to normal in no time!

Once you are done with your Invisalign treatment, we will make you a set of Invisalign retainers. We give you four sets to ensure they last you a long time. It is important to wear your retainers full time for 90 days after you finish your treatment, and then every night to prevent your teeth from shifting to the initial position.

It depends on your dental insurance plan. Make sure to check if you have orthodontic coverage in your plan and if you do, a few thousand can be covered. We are in network with many insurance companies and accept patients on PPO Plans.
